  • Five Brookdale Student-Athletes Earn NJCAA Academic Honors
    June 18, 2014
    Colorado Springs, CO- Five Brookdale Community College student-athletes have earned academic honors, as announced by the NJCAA this afternoon. A three-tiered honor system, to earn the NJCAA Award for Superior Academic Achievement, a student athlete must have earned a GPA between 3.80 – 3.99 and the NJCAA Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement requires a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79 and the NJCAA Pinnacle award requires a 4.0. For all honors, at least 45 credit hours must have been completed.
  • Bobbie Boehler and Maclane Smoke Earn NATYCAA Scholar-Athlete Of The Year Distinctions

    Orlando, FL- Sophomores Bobbie Boehler (softball) and Maclane Smoke (men’s tennis) have been named the male and female NATYCAA scholar-athlete of the year. This marks the first time in the award's 22-year history that one college has swept the male and female award.
  • Sara Vocisano Earns Marucci Elite Hitter Award

    Colorado Springs, CO- Brookdale Community College freshman Sara Vocisano earned the 2014 NJCAA Softball Marucci Elite Hitter award. The award is presented to the All-America nominee from each district with the highest batting average. Vocisano had an overall batting average of .490 for the season. She tallied 72 hits, smashing 17 doubles, 3 triples, and a home run. She also drove in 34 RBI's for the Jersey Blues.
  • Cassidy Brzozowski Named National Player Of The Year; Softball Players Earn All-American Honors

    Lincroft, NJ- Brookdale Community College sophomore center fielder Cassidy Brzozowski was named National Player of the Year for NJCAA Division III Softball. Brzozowksi also earned a spot on the first All-American team. Sophomore pitchers Samantha Hosey and Krystal Pearson join Brzozowski on the All-American first team.
  • Softball Grabs Third Place At National Tournament; Cassidy Brzozowski Named Outstanding Defensive Player Of Tournament

    Rochester, MN- The Brookdale softball team grabbed third place at the NJCAA Division III Women's Softball National Tournament. The Blues fell to the Generals of Herkimer College, 10-0, in a season ending match-up. Sophomore center fielder Cassidy Brzozowski was named outstanding defensive player of the tournament.
  • Softball Falls To Rock Valley College, 2-1

    Rochester, MN- The Brookdale softball team fell to the Golden Eagles of Rock Valley College, 2-1. Sophomore third baseman Erin Lockwood knocked in the Blues only run. Freshman outfielders Courtney Semkewyc and Sara Vocisano went 1-3 from the plate.
  • Softball Downs Anne Arundel In First Round Of National Tournament

    Rochester, MN- After a brief rain delay, the Brookdale softball team took an early lead against the Pioneers of Anne Arundel Community College. The Blues downed the Pioneers, 4-0 in the first round of the NJCAA Division III Women's Softball National Championship Tournament. Sophomore pitcher Krystal Pearson threw for the win, striking out 11 batters and giving up only 1 hit.
  • Homan's Suicide Squeeze Sends Softball Past Monroe In Extra Innings

    Rochester, MN- The Brookdale softball team defeated Monroe Community College, 2-1, in ten innings. Sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey threw the complete game with 3 strikeouts and 1 earned run. In the bottom of the tenth, sophomore second baseman Keara Homan suicide squeezed for sophomore second baseman Bobbie Boehler who scored the winning run.
  • Softball Grabs The Number One Seed In National Tournament

    Rochester, MN- The Brookdale softball team grabbed the number one- seed for the National Softball Tournament in Rochester, MN. The Jersey Blues will face the number eight-seeded Pioneers of Anne Arundel Community College on Thursday, May 15th at 10:00am.

    Lincroft, NJ- Brookdale Community College sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey was named Region XIX Player of the Year. Hosey was also named as a first team All-Region and All-GSAC honoree. Sophomore short stop Bobbie Boehler, freshman outfielder Sara Vocisano, sophomore catcher Stephanie Grainger and sophomore center fielder Cassidy Brzozowski join Hosey on the All-Region first team.
  • Softball Splits With Mercer; Semkewyc and Pearson Knock Out Solo Home Runs

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team split with Mercer County Community College in today's doubleheader. In game one, the Blues downed the Vikings, 4-1. Sophomore Samantha Hosey pitched for the win. She tallied 3 strikeouts and 6 scattered hits. Freshman outfielder Courtney Semkewyc and sophomore Krystal Pearson knocked out a solo home run apiece while freshman outfielder Sara Vocisano ripped an RBI double.

    Randolph, NJ- The Brookdale softball team split with the County College of Morris, 9-1, and 4-10. In game one, sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey threw for the win, striking out 6 batters. Freshman outfielder Sara Vocisano tallied a double, triple, 2 singles and 4 RBI's. Sophomore catcher Stephanie Grainger went 3-3 with 2 doubles, a single, and 3 runs scored.
  • Softball Celebrates Sophomore Day

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team celebrated the seven sophomores during today's doubleheader against Bergen Community College. Outfielder Cassidy Brzozowski, pitchers Samantha Hosey and Krystal Pearson, second baseman Keara Homan, short stop Bobbie Boehler, third baseman Erin Lockwood and catcher Stephanie Grainger will be moving on after this year.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team downed the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College, 7-0 and 18-1. In game one, sophomore third baseman Krystal Pearson smashed a 2-run homer. Sophomore outfielder Cassidy Brzozowski had 3 hits and 2 RBI's while sophomore second baseman Keara Homan went 3-4 at the plate. Sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey threw a 1-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team split with Monroe College. In game one, the Blues defeated the Mustangs 3-1. Sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey struck out 8 batters. Freshman outfielder Sara Vocisano went 2-3 with two runs scored. Sophomore outfielder Cassidy Brzozowski knocked in 2 runs and contributed a stolen base.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team downed the Blue Colts of Middlesex County College, 17-0 and 11-1. In game one, sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey threw a perfect game, striking out 8 batters. Freshman first baseman Alexandra Clayton drilled a 3-run homer to center. Sophomore outfielder Cassidy Brzozowski drove in 3 runs with 3 hits and freshman outfielder Sara Vocisano knocked in 2 runs.
  • Sara Vocisano Rips Six; Blues Take Two From Mercy JV

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team downed the JV Mavericks of Mercy College, 7-0 and 6-4. In game one, freshman outfielder Sara Vocisano ripped 2 doubles and a single and scored 4 of the 7 runs for the Blues. Sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey threw 10 strikeouts for the shutout.

    Toms River, NJ- The Brookdale softball team overwhelmed the Vikings of Ocean County College, 19-0 and 17-0. In game one, sophomore Samantha Hosey pitched a 1-hitter. Sara Vocisano, Courtney Semkewyc and Cassidy Brzozowski each drilled a home run. Semkewyc also drove in 6 runs.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team took down the Roadrunners of Gloucester County College, 3-1 and 5-2. In game one, sophomore Samantha Hosey pitched a 3-hitter with 5 strikeouts. Freshman Courtney Semkewyc 2-run doubled for the Blues.

    Newton, NJ- The Jersey Blues defeated the Skylanders of Sussex County Community College, 12-0 and 15-4. In game one, sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey threw a no-hitter with 6 strikeouts. Sophomore center fielder Cassidy Brzozowksi went 4-4 at the plate including a 3-run homer. She also drove in 5 RBI's.

    Schnecksville, PA- The Brookdale softball team swept Lehigh Carbon, 15-0 and 15-1. In game one, sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey and freshman pitcher Kirby Marron combined a no-hitter. Sophomore catcher Stephanie Grainger went 2-4 with a double, single and 3 RBI's.

Sophomore second baseman Keara Homan singled, doubled and drove in 3 RBI's. Freshman outfielder Alexandra Clayton went 3-4 with 2 RBI's.

In game one, sophomore pitcher Samantha Hosey threw for the win, sophomore shortstop Bobbie Boehler and center fielder Cassidy Brzozowski each hit a 2-run double and freshman left fielder Sara Vocisano had a 2-run single.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team swept the Colts of Orange County in today's double-header. Sophomore second baseman Keara Homan led the Blues to victory, hitting a 3-run home run in game one. The Jersey Blues won the game, 11-6.
