  • Cassie Varvaro Named The 2015 NJCAA Softball Marucci Elite Hitter For District E

    Lincroft, NJ- Freshman shortstop Cassie Varvaro has been named the 2015 NJCAA Softball Maurcci Elite Hitter for District E, the National office announced Friday. Varvaro, who played in all 50 games, batted a team-best .536 while cracking the National top-10 in hits (5th – 82) and runs (7th – 65).

    Lincroft, NJ- Brookdale Community College sophomore outfielder Sara Vocisano earned a spot on the All-American first team for her performance in the 2015 season. Freshman shortstop Cassie Varvaro was named to the second All-American team for her efforts in the field and at the plate.

    Rochester, MN- The Brookdale softball team finished fifth at the NJCAA Division III National Tournament. The Jersey Blues fell to the Vikings of Hudson Valley Community College, 3-2. Freshman shortstop Cassie Varvaro recorded two hits and one stolen base.
  • Softball Tops Community College of Allegheny County-South In Second-Round

    Rochester, MN- The Brookdale softball team topped the Tigers of Community College of Allegheny County- South, 6-4 in the second-round of the elimination bracket of the NJCAA Division III National Tournament. Sophomore pitcher Kaitlyn Kretzmer launched a double at bat, knkcing in two runs for the Jersey Blues.

    Rochester, MN- The Brookdale softball team fell to the Cyclones of St. Cloud Technical & Community College, 9-7 in the first-round of the National tournament. Freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt threw for the first six innings. Sophomore reliever Kaitlyn Kretzmer finished out the game on the mound.
  • Sara Vocisano Named GSAC Player Of The Year; Softball Players Make All-Region And All-GSAC Teams

    Lincroft, NJ- Brookdale Community College sophomore outfielder Sara Vocisano was named GSAC Player of the Year. Vocisano was also named as a first team All-Region and All-GSAC honoree. Freshman shortstop Cassie Varvaro, freshman first baseman Caroline Abin and freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt join Vocisano on the All-Region first team and All-GSAC first team.
  • Brookdale Softball Claims Third-Consecutive Region XIX Title; Cassie Varvaro Named Tournament MVP

    Sewell, NJ- Region XIX tournament MVP Cassie Varvaro went four-for-five with three runs scored and two stolen bases en route to leading second-seeded Brookdale Community College to a 9-1 and 3-2 sweep of No. 3 Ocean County College in the Region XIX championship round. The Blues, victors of the best-of-three series, have won their third-straight Region title.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team swept the JV Mavericks of Mercy College, 13-4 and 12-4. In game one, sophomore second baseman Sara Case went 3-3 from the plate, recording four RBI's.

    Dobbs Ferry, NY- The Jersey Blues softball team split with the Mavericks JV squad of Mercy College. In game one, Brookdale fell to Mercy, 7-6. Freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt struck out two batters and allowed 11 scattered hits.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Jersey Blues rolled past the Mustangs of Montgomery County Community College, 19-1 and 13-0. Sophomore pitcher Kaitlyn Kretzmer hurled a no-hitter from the mound, collecting her fifth win of the season.

    Lincroft, NJ- Victoria Vogt hit her stride for the Jersey Blues this week - earning a 7-1 record on the mound for her NJCAA sixth-ranked squad. In those eight games, the freshman hurler recorded a .875 ERA - not allowing an opponent to earn more than two runs in any one performance.

    New Rochelle, NY- The Brookdale softball team fell to the Mustangs of Monroe College, 12-11 and 5-4. In game one, the Blues were up in the top of the fifth but could not hold on to the lead. Sophomore outfielder Sara Vocisano went 4-5 from the plate, bringing in one run.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Jersey Blues softball team downed the Spartans of Northampton Community College twice, 16-4 and 13-0. Freshman outfielder Amanda Pringle knocked out three doubles and recorded three RBI's for the doubleheader.

    West Windsor, NJ- The Brookdale softball team fell to the Vikings of Mercer County Community College, 9-5 and 11-3. Sophomore pitcher Courtney Semkewyc recorded four hits and knocked in four RBI's. Semkewyc also posted her third home run of the season.

    Sewell, NJ- The Brookdale softball team edged the Roadrunners of Rowan College at Gloucester County, 7-0 and 6-3. Freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt tossed for 14 innings, earning two more wins for the season. Sophomore catcher Morgan T. Schweitzer posted a double, one scored run and one RBI.

    Edison, NJ- The Brookdale softball team dominated play against the Blue Colts of Middlesex County College. In game one, the Blues downed the Blue Colts, 17-7 in five innings. Freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt threw for the win while sophomore outfielder Sara Vocisano ripped five hits.

    Lincroft, NJ- The Brookdale softball team split with the Fighting Owls of Harford Community College. In game one, the Blues fell 4-0. In game two, Brookdale downed Harford, 12-6. Freshman pitcher Victoria Vogt tossed for the win. Vogt struck out three batters and earned her sixth victory of the season.

    Asbury Park, NJ- The 2013 and 2014 Brookdale softball seasons featured National Player of the Year Cassidy Brzozowski. In 2014, she was named Outstanding Defensive Player of the National Tournament and earned a spot on the first All-American, All-Region and All-GSAC teams. Cassidy's father, Stan Brzozowski wrote to the Absury Park Press about his daughter's experience at Brookdale Community College.

    Paramus, NJ- The Brookdale softball team overwhelmed the Bulldogs of Bergen Community College, 13-0 and 13-3. Sophomore outfielder Alexandra Clayton led the way for the Jersey Blues, launching a grand slam while freshman outfielder Amanda Pringle recorded five hits and five scored runs.

    Nanticoke, PA- The Jersey Blues softball team overwhelmed the Trailblazers of Luzerne County Community College, 19-4 and 18-0. In game one, sophomore outfielder Sara Vocisano went 2-4 from the plate, driving in four runs. Freshman Victoria Vogt earned her fourth win of the season, striking out three batters and allowing only four hits.

    Red Bank, NJ- The Brookdale softball team swept the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon, 17-0 and 10-2. In game one, freshman center fielder Amanda Pringle tallied a single, double, triple and four RBI's. Freshman third baseman Jacquie Coulahan and sophomore first baseman Caroline Abin collected three hits apiece. Coulahan also drove in two runs.

    Myrtle Beach, SC- The Jersey Blues downed the Falcons of Lackawanna College, 6-3 in game one. Sophomore pitcher Courtney Semkewyc drilled a solo home run to put the Blues on the board.
