On the softball field, the second baseman appeared in 109 games over two seasons, boasting a .349 batting average, 68 RBIs, 108 runs, and 33 stolen bases. Her performance earned her Second Team All-GSAC and Third Team All-Region honors in 2014. On the soccer pitch, she was just as impressive—starting all 19 games in the 2013 season, tallying 5 goals and 15 assists, and earning a spot on the Third Team All-Region.
For Homan, those years were about more than stats and awards—they were about growth, balance, and the memories made through competition and camaraderie.
"Starting out at community college was one of the best decisions I made. It let me stay close to my friends and family, and I'm so grateful for that time. After high school, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, and going to community college really helped me figure things out, and the best part was being able to keep playing the sports that I love. I was able to balance school, sports, and home life without feeling like I was missing out on anything.
Being a student-athlete was honestly one of the best parts of my college experience. Playing soccer and softball brought me some of my fondest memories from college and it pushed me to grow both on and off the field. I was lucky enough to compete at Nationals for both soccer and softball which was an unforgettable experience and something I'll always be proud of.
My coaches were incredibly supportive and always pushed us to be better, both as athletes and as people. The friendships I made as a student-athlete have lasted all this time, and we still have so much fun together. From Friendsgivings to weddings, it always feels like no time has passed.
That experience eventually led me to Monmouth University, where I got to go to school and live with three of my childhood friends — it really felt like everything came full circle and honestly, it couldn't have worked out any better."
