Brookdale Overpowers SUNY Broome In Back-to-Back Five-Inning Finals
Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College baseball team continued its strong weekend, adding two more victories with a dominant sweep over the SUNY Broome Community College Hornets, 13-3 and 12-2, both in five innings.

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale Community College baseball team continued its strong weekend, adding two more victories with a dominant sweep over the SUNY Broome Community College Hornets, 13-3 and 12-2, both in five innings.
In game one, sophomore right fielder Casey Gardiner and freshman left fielder Nicco Maribo each drove in two RBI to pace the Jersey Blues offense. On the mound, sophomore Matty Koenig (1-1) earned the win with an impressive outing, throwing 4.0 innings while striking out seven batters.
Brookdale carried that momentum into game two with another explosive performance at the plate. Sophomore center fielder Gary Perone III went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI, while Maribo stayed hot with a perfect 3-for-3 effort that included two doubles and two RBI. Freshman left fielder Derek Miro contributed by going 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI, and freshman first baseman Owen Parillo added a two-RBI double to cap the offensive surge.
On the mound, sophomore Vinny Zaffarese secured the win for the Jersey Blues, tossing 3.0 innings with two strikeouts.
Brookdale improves to 6-3 on the season and will return home to face the Roxbury Community College Tigers on Tuesday, March 17th at 1:00pm.
