Paramus, NJ - Brookdale baseball opened its three-game series in commanding fashion, defeating the Bergen Community College Bulldogs in a doubleheader on the road, 14-5 and 14-9, to improve to 21-7.

Paramus, NJ - Brookdale baseball opened its three-game series in commanding fashion, defeating the Bergen Community College Bulldogs in a doubleheader on the road, 14-5 and 14-9, to improve to 21-7.
In game one, sophomore Gary Perone delivered a dominant performance on the mound, improving to 5-0 after tossing five innings while allowing just one hit and striking out eight. The Jersey Blues offense backed him with a powerful showing at the plate.
Freshman DH LJ Santiago led the charge, going 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Freshman left fielder Nicco Maribo and freshman first baseman Thomas Diffley each doubled and drove in two runs apiece. Additional RBI contributions came from sophomore third baseman Anthony Pizzuti, sophomore second baseman Ryan Tan, freshman Frank Kentoffio, and freshman Gabriel Tomei as Brookdale built a comfortable lead.
In game two, Santiago continued to set the tone, going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Freshman shortstop Dawson Smail added a strong performance, batting 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Pizzuti delivered a two RBI double, while freshman DH Ray Mulhern also doubled and drove in two runs.
Additional RBI hits came from Kentoffio, freshman Emmanuel Cepin, and Tan as the Blues kept the pressure on offensively. On the mound, freshman Luke Roccesano went 6.2 innings, striking out nine to secure the win.
With the sweep, Brookdale now sits at 21-7-1 and will return home to finish the three-game series against Bergen on Sunday, April 12th at 12:00pm.
