Jersey Blues Close Season After Dramatic Championship Fight
Camden, NJ - The No. 2 Brookdale Community College baseball team fell to the No. 1 seeded RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners 25-18 in game two of the NJCAA Region 19 Division III Tournament Championship in a wild back-and-forth battle.

Camden, NJ - The No. 2 Brookdale Community College baseball team fell to the No. 1 seeded RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners 25-18 in game two of the NJCAA Region 19 Division III Tournament Championship in a wild back-and-forth battle.
The Jersey Blues jumped out to a huge 17-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning before Gloucester answered with a major comeback, scoring 22 runs over the final innings, including 12 in the eighth.
Sophomore left fielder Gary Perone III led Brookdale at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI. Freshman catcher Ryan Adams batted 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI, while sophomore DH Gabriel Tomei went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI.
Sophomore third baseman Anthony Pizzuti added two RBI, while sophomore center fielder Ray Mulhern, sophomore right fielder Casey Gardiner, and freshman shortstop Dawson Smail each contributed an RBI.
Despite the difficult loss, Brookdale finished an impressive season with a 43-12-1 overall record and a 25-8 conference record.
