LINCROFT, N.J. — The Brookdale Community College men's basketball team suffered a tough 62-60 loss to the Monroe University Express in their season opener on day one of the Brookdale Classic.
The Jersey Blues built a commanding 20-point lead early in the contest, but the Express stormed back in the second half, chipping away at the deficit and taking the lead in the final seconds to seal the win.
Sophomore guard Keith Allen led Brookdale with 15 points, pacing a balanced offensive effort for the Blues.
Brookdale (0-1) will look to bounce back when they face the Rockland Community College Hawks on day two of the Brookdale Classic at 4:00 p.m. in the Robert J. Collins Arena.
