Jersey Blues Show Heart In Volleyball Season Debut
Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale Community College men’s volleyball opened its season with a spirited, hard-nosed battle against the Atlantic Cape Community College Buccaneers, falling in a tightly contested five-set match, 3-2. The marathon showdown featured scores of 19-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23, and a dramatic 17-19 final set that kept fans on edge until the last rally.

Sophomore outside hitter Jacob Krol led Brookdale with 18 kills, powering the offense with consistent swings from the outside. Sophomore middle hitter Jahki Willis added 13 kills and three blocks, controlling the net with strong finishes and timely defensive stops. Sophomore setter Travis Burke contributed six kills while directing the offense in an exciting and competitive season opener.
Though the Jersey Blues move to 0-1, the performance demonstrated toughness and promise as the team continues to build chemistry early in the season. Brookdale will look to bounce back on the road when they face the Middlesex College Colts on Wednesday, February 18th at 6:00pm.
