Toms River, NJ - The Brookdale Community College men’s volleyball team delivered a competitive split in a tri-match at Ocean County College, earning a hard-fought five-set victory over the Northampton Community College Spartans before falling in straight sets to the host Ocean County College Vikings.

Toms River, NJ - The Brookdale Community College men's volleyball team delivered a competitive split in a tri-match at Ocean County College, earning a hard-fought five-set victory over the Northampton Community College Spartans before falling in straight sets to the host Ocean County College Vikings.
The Jersey Blues opened the day outlasting the Spartans in a 3-2 suspenser with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 23-25, 25-11, and 15-6. After dropping back-to-back sets, Brookdale dominated the fourth and fifth as freshman middle hitter Logan Ash led the charge with an outstanding performance, hammering 16 kills while adding four serving aces and two blocks. Freshman outside hitter Mauricio Catalan contributed 13 kills and two blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Jacob Krol matched that total with 13 kills of his own. Freshman middle hitter Jayden Preston added nine kills, and sophomore middle hitter Jahki Willis anchored the net with seven kills and three blocks.
In the second match, Brookdale faced a strong Ocean County squad that controlled the tempo throughout a 3-0 sweep, winning 25-21, 25-18, and 25-18. Despite the setback, Ash continued his strong play with nine kills, while Krol supported the effort with eight kills.
Now standing at 6-7 on the season, the Jersey Blues will look to bounce back as they hit the road to face the Nassau Community College Lions on Monday, March 23rd at 7:00pm.
