Brookdale Men's Cross Country Finishes 10th At NJCAA DIII National Championship
Fort Dodge, Iowa - The Brookdale Community College men’s cross country team capped off an outstanding season with a strong performance at the NJCAA Division III National Championship, held at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The Jersey Blues placed 10th overall in a competitive national field, showcasing grit, teamwork, and determination from start to finish.
Leading the charge for Brookdale was freshman standout Walter Heffner, who crossed the line in 31st place, setting the tone for the Blues with an impressive effort in his first national championship appearance. Just two spots behind, sophomore captain Andrew Lorig finished 33rd, closing out his Brookdale career with a determined run.
Sophomore captain Harmon Hass was the next Jersey Blue to finish, claiming 55th place, followed closely by sophomore captain Gavin Tay in 58th and freshman Charles Doolittle in 59th, solidifying the team's top-10 standing. Freshman Angel Hernandez added a 68th-place finish, and sophomore captain Diego Alva rounded out the scoring effort in 74th, contributing valuable depth to the team's overall performance.
The men's team's 10th-place finish capped a historic day for the Brookdale cross country program, as both the men's and women's teams represented the Jersey Blues at the national level — a proud moment for the entire Brookdale athletics community.
