Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale softball delivered a commanding road performance, defeating the RCSJ-Cumberland Dukes 8-0 and 15-0 to improve to 23-9 on the season.
In game one, freshman shortstop Adrianna Cruz led the offense by going 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. Sophomore pitcher Jules Hart helped her own cause with a two RBI triple, while single RBI hits came from sophomore third baseman Jadeyn Pavlik, freshman catcher Alexa Cebulski, freshman center fielder Sophia Lasater, and freshman left fielder Sophia Costa. Hart was dominant in the circle, improving to 12-4 after throwing 5.0 hitless innings with no walks and seven strikeouts.
The Jersey Blues kept rolling in game two with another explosive performance. Hart once again starred at the plate, going 4-for-4 with an inside the park home run, a double, and three RBI. Sophomore second baseman Mya Bonilla added three RBI, while Cebulski crushed a two RBI double. Sophomore right fielder Emma Zazzarino drove in two runs, and freshman left fielder Katelyn Hernandez added an RBI single. Sophomore Jadeyn Pavlik earned the win in the circle, improving to 11-5 after tossing five strong innings.
Brookdale will travel to Toms River, NJ for its next challenge against the Ocean County College Vikings on Saturday, April 18th at 12:00pm.
