Brookdale Starts Tournament Run With Win Over Northampton
Edison, NJ - The No. 2 Brookdale Community College softball team opened the Region 19 Final Four with a commanding 10-2 victory over the No. 3 Northampton Community College Spartans at Middlesex College.
Edison, NJ - The No. 2 Brookdale Community College softball team opened the Region 19 Final Four with a commanding 10-2 victory over the No. 3 Northampton Community College Spartans at Middlesex College.
Freshman first baseman Sophia Lasater came through with one of the biggest hits of the game, delivering a clutch double that brought home three runs to lead the Jersey Blues offense. Freshman catcher Alexa Cebulski added another strong performance at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Additional RBI singles came from sophomore center fielder Jules Hart, sophomore pitcher Jadeyn Pavlik, and freshman shortstop Adrianna Cruz as Brookdale continued to pressure the Spartans throughout the contest.
In the circle, Pavlik delivered a solid outing to earn the win, improving to 16-6 after pitching five innings for the Jersey Blues.
With the victory, Brookdale advances to face the No. 1 seeded RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners in game two of the Region 19 Final Four.
