Diaz-Merino Dominates as Brookdale Defeats Passaic, 67-53

LINCROFT, N.J. — The Brookdale Community College women's basketball team continued their strong start to the season with a 67-53 victory over the Passaic County College Panthers.
Freshman guard Leomary Diaz-Merino led the Jersey Blues with an outstanding performance, scoring 30 points while adding nine rebounds, five steals, and two blocks. Her all-around play set the tone for Brookdale's dominant showing on both ends of the floor.
Sophomore guard Jocelyn Jackson contributed 11 points, while freshman guard Jamirah Glanton pulled down 13 key rebounds to control the boards. Freshman forward Jamya Smith added 12 rebounds, helping Brookdale win the rebounding battle and keep the Panthers in check throughout the game.
With the win, Brookdale improves to 2-1 on the season. The Jersey Blues will return home to face the Union College Owls on Saturday, November 8th, with tip-off set for 12:00 p.m. in the Robert J. Collins Arena.
