Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale Community College freshman libero Sofia Cortes has been named the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Volleyball Player of the Week for her exceptional performance during the week of October 6–12, 2025.
Lincroft, NJ - Brookdale Community College freshman libero Sofia Cortes has been named the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Volleyball Player of the Week for her exceptional performance during the week of October 6–12, 2025.
Cortes anchored the Jersey Blues' defense and showcased remarkable consistency as Brookdale posted a perfect 3–0 record with victories over Passaic County CC, Community College of Philadelphia, and Rowan College of South Jersey–Gloucester. Across those matches, Cortes recorded an astounding 109 digs, along with 3 assists and 10 spikes, helping to solidify Brookdale's position among the conference's top contenders.
Her standout play and relentless defensive effort were key to Brookdale's momentum throughout the week, as the Jersey Blues continued to build on their strong season.
