Herkimer, NY — The #5-seeded Brookdale Community College Jersey Blues women’s soccer team battled hard but came up short in the NJCAA Division III Championship quarterfinals, falling to the #4-seeded Suffolk County Community College Sharks, 3-1, at Herkimer County Community College.

Herkimer, NY — The #5-seeded Brookdale Community College Jersey Blues women's soccer team battled hard but came up short in the NJCAA Division III Championship quarterfinals, falling to the #4-seeded Suffolk County Community College Sharks, 3-1, at Herkimer County Community College.
Freshman forward Bella Tomassini provided the lone goal for the Jersey Blues, scoring in the 89th minute (88:21) off a well-placed assist from freshman defender Natalie Kline. Freshman goalkeeper Demitria Fredericks anchored the defense with an impressive 11 saves, keeping Brookdale within reach for much of the match.
The Jersey Blues will return to the turf on Thursday, November 13th, at 11:00 a.m., for a consolation matchup against the #8-seeded Bristol Community College Bayhawks from Fall River, Massachusetts.
