Women Snag Two Huge Wins At Home Tri-Match
Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale women's volleyball team walked away victorious after two huge conference wins in their tri-match against the Harrisburg Area Community College Hawks and the Atlantic Cape Community College Buccaneers. With the wins, the Jersey Blues are 5-0 and are currently sitting at the top of the NJCAA DIII Region 19 standings.

Lincroft, NJ - The Brookdale women's volleyball team walked away victorious after two huge conference wins after their tri-match against the Harrisburg Area Community College Hawks and the Atlantic Cape Community College Buccaneers. With the wins, the Jersey Blues are 5-0 and are currently sitting at the top of the NJCAA DIII Region 19 standings.
Brookdale opened up the tri-match with a five set thriller win over the Hawks with set scores of 18-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-17, 15-9. Freshman outside hitter, Gemma Ferris, battled with kills as she finished with a total of 17 as sophomore middle hitter, Maria Luz, followed with a close 15 kills. Freshman setter, Bella McKelvey, contributed six kills and five huge serving aces, and sophomore middle blocker, Amanda Demeo, came through with seven kills and four blocks.
In the second match and win of the day, Brookdale defeated the Buccaneers, 3-1, with set scores of 25-19, 25-10, 22-25, 25-12. Gemma Ferris led the Blues once again and poured on the power even more with 20 kills while Amanda Demeo also stepped it up in game-two to finish with nine kills, three aces, and two blocks. Bella McKelvey added another eight kills and two more serving aces for the win.
Brookdale will be on the road to Branchburg, NJ, to take on the Raritan Valley Community College Golden Lions on Wednesday, September 24th, at 6:00pm.
